I'll always remember this beautiful city proposal in Charlestown, MA since it was the first one I ever shot! There's something so special about witnessing and being asked to photograph a huge celebration of a couple's journey together. This Boston couple lived outside of the city but had a shared love of a TV show featuring an obelisk, and Charlestown has a tall obelisk as the center of its Bunker Hill Monument.  Charlestown also has a beautiful view of the Boston city skyline. It will forever be one of my favorite Boston neighborhoods for three reasons: 1. My sister used to live there and I have fond memories of visiting her and walking around the charming New England streets. 2. There is free (and ample) street parking on the weekends! 3. The Tatte is not overcrowded and a great pit stop for a pick me up!

I met the soon to be fiancé at the park a few hours before his girlfriend was set to arrive. We talked through the logistics of the plan and I took my place off to the side, pretending to photograph the monument. Once I saw her arrive and heads towards her boyfriend, it was go time! I snapped away at the proposal, tears starting to swell in her eyes. Her fiancé pointed towards me, explaining how we would now have a photo shoot! It's such a joy to photograph pure happiness as seen between these two - so in love, excited, and celebrating a huge milestone. We took lots of pictures all around the park and I did my best to let them celebrate as I captured their joy. I would be more than happy to photograph engagements again and again after the experience I had with these two.
